Sometimes when a friend gets pregnant I secretly try to send strong mental messages that they want photos done by me. When I heard Bethany and Gabe were expecting I immediately sent out my super power photo vibes and apparently they worked. I was so excited to see them and capture this time in their lives. I was also nervous because oh my goodness Bethany is glowing and I wanted to make sure I did her justice. Hugo came along and they got to do some baby product test driving with his stroller and carseat. I think Gabe is a natural! I am very excited to meet Viola soon.
Misty + Kevin
How grateful am I that the best part of my job is meeting and connecting with such kind, loving, and genuine souls. I felt immediately part of the group of family and friends joining together to celebrate this couple's special day.
Also, when there is a 100% chance of rain on your wedding day and then it never rains...I think that has to be a good sign (and one lucky photographer!) Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this beautiful day!
Meg + Arn :: Washington Wedding Photographer :: Samish Island, WA.
I have known Meg since we were 20 and studying abroad in England. I hadn't seen her for 5 years. Seeing her with Arn for the first time, on their wedding day, I immediatly knew how special they were together. The way they look at each other. The huge amount of pure joy her face radiates. The sincere and grateful look he gives her. They clearly have lightened up each other's lives, and I know they will share a beautiful, adventurous life together.
Thank you for having me, you guys were amazing. Oh and did I mention it was on a gorgeous peninsula with amazing (and fun to photograph) food. So fun to photograph I forgot to eat an oyster and I am kicking myself. Flowers made it all come together, by the super sweet and talented Meredith of Verde & Co.
Tiffany + Trevor :: Oregon Wedding Photographer :: Horning's Hideout, North Plains, OR.
Tiffany and Trevor were married on September 18th, at Horning's Hideout in North Plains, Oregon. They have known each other since middle school (!!!). Although I only met them a few times before their wedding day, they immediatly seemed like old friends to me also. A perk of this job I never realized would happen, is to meet such sweet, caring people that are so fun and comfortable to be around. Thank you Tiffany and Trevor for trusting me to capture this beautiful day.
Also, I can't thank my second shooter, Kat Berbari enough. You are amazing.
Carys + Benji :: Wedding :: Sisters, OR.
They got ready at their home together. They drove to the ceremony together in an old fire truck his dad just bought. They wrote their vows together. They celebrated together with the most enthusiastic and supportive wedding guests I have yet to witness. At the beautiful garden they created together. Together they are magic. But better than that, they are magical individually. Their love sets them free to flourish as the exceptional individual they each are. And that, that is an inspiration. I love you both, and I am so very honored to witness and document the most genuine, authentic, and just plain fun ceremony ever. Thank you.

And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow."

Mathilde Blake
A girl is born in Portland! I obviously have a sweet spot for baby boys (being a mom to two pretty great ones and all) but I had been craving a newborn girl since there seems to have been an influx of boys the last few months (year...?). Well let me tell you, Mathilde delivered (pun not really intended). She was perfect during the session, and her parents are obviously naturals. Also, I am in love with her name. Thanks for allowing me to capture this beautiful moment in your little family's life.
The Greens :: Family Lifestyle Photographer :: Vancouver, WA.
I met this beautiful family at their home in Vancouver, WA. Natalie (3.5) and Julia (5.5) were so energetic and not camera shy at all! I loved getting to know them and hearing all about their "boyfriends" (or just the boyfriend's name followed by embarrassed giggles). We ventured to Officers Row for some outdoor photos during sunset. Also...Laura casually mentioned to me during the session that she happened to run a Tough Mudder that morning....no big deal. Thank you Laura, Hart, Julia, and Natalie for an exciting summer evening.
Holy Guacamole :: Maternity Lifestyle Photographer :: Portland, OR.
I spent a beautiful summer evening with this soon-to-be family of four. Ryder is going to make a great big brother, and has not so officially named his baby brother "Guacamole". Who doesn't love guacamole? For this, and many other reasons, new baby boy is sure to be loved.
PS: You can see another family session I did with this beautiful family here
Bennett :: Newborn Lifestyle Photographer :: Portland, OR.
I first met Barbara and Joel when we took their maternity photos in March (you can see those photos here). She was due a day after me and we were excited to see how a newborn photoshoot would work out, given we didn't know whose was coming first! Bennett came into the world on June 8th. I brought my new assistant Hugo along for the fun and he proved himself to be an excellent...sleeper. We had so much fun talking about our new additions and sharing our birth stories that I completely lost track of time. And this is why I love my job. I look forward to seeing this beautiful family grow!
The Crisman Bump :: Lifestyle Maternity Session :: Hillsboro, OR.
I am not sure they come any cuter than these two. I spent a hot summer evening with Ashley and Ben, and they could not have been more fun and willing. The look in Ben's eyes, Ashley's gorgeous bump, and the connection between these two was inspiring to document. I am excited to meet their little Rowan when he makes his entrance this August. Congratulations you two (three!).
