Ellis :: In-Home Session :: Lauren LaBarre Photography

When Katie contacted me to see if I would ever come to Denver for a session, I was super excited to make it happen. Katie is my partner's cousin who I have never met, but I had an idea we would connect right away. It was amazing to finally meet, and to see that Ellis totally resembles my little guys as well. Ellis is currently sleeping in the same family heirloom crib that has been passed down through multiple generations. The same crib Alden slept in when he was tiny! Thank you Katie and Adam for welcoming me into your home (and for super delicious coffee and croissants). I can't wait to see you guys again.

The Stein Family :: In-Home Session :: Mt. Tabor, Portland, Oregon

I had a wonderful Saturday morning hanging out with the Stein family. In true Portland fashion, the rain came in, so we decided to take full advantage of it for some classic Portland weather photos. I actually can't believe this was my first family session where the kids jumped in puddles! Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Everett :: Newborn Photo Session :: Portland, OR

That little toddler jumping on the bed just so happens to be the little guy who kickstarted my career. My first photo session was doing maternity photos with Meghann, my friend of 24 (?!) years. Since then we have grown by two more little boys, and a lot less time to have an uninterrupted conversation. My favorite thing about being a family photographer is watching families grow, especially when they are lifelong friends. When I see those first maternity photos now, I realize just how special it was to document the beginnings of this family. xo

Zack + Rachel :: Henry Estate Winery :: Umpqua, Oregon

Zack and Rachel got married on the most beautiful Autumn day, surrounded by such a fun and loving group of family and friends. I photographed the wedding of Zack's aunt last year, and it was super special to be around familiar faces again. This couple is so madly in love that I barley had to direct them at all during their sunset portraits, they were just happy to share a special quiet moment together. We just stood back and excitedly captured the intimate connection that they share, giddy to get home and edit these photos full of such pure, raw emotion. Thank you Zack and Rachel for being so easy and fun to work with. And a special thanks to Zack's mom, Gwen, for hiring me to capture her son's wedding day.  And as always, to my second shooter extraordinaire Kat...THANK YOU.
